Supporting the Trust

Fundraising

To date the Trust has taken a conscious decision not to make a direct appeal for funds to support its work – it is determined only to do so once it has established a track record of success in its projects. It is confident that this record is now being established and shortly, once the endowment for our third primary school is donated, we feel that it will be time to support other worthwhile projects – and fresh funds for these will be needed!

In the meantime, the Trust’s strategy is to approach grant-making Trusts, but also greatly welcomes donations from individuals keen to support our aims.

Joining the Trust

The Trust welcomes applications to join the Trust from individuals who share its aims. Membership is open to OTGs and others who feel they have relevant expertise and wish to make an appropriate contribution to its work. A brief explanation of the structure of the Trust, and the criteria for joining, is available: download an application form or contact the Trust Executive to discuss your possible involvement.

Gifts in your Will

If you would like to consider leaving a gift to the Trust please contact us if you would like more information. A straightforward form is available, suitable for a simple codicil to an existing will. However, if considering a new will it is usually best to use a solicitor, who can ensure that you chose the most appropriate form of bequest; after considering your wishes for family & friends. The types of Gift you could make in your will are:

·         A fixed sum, or a percentage, of what you will leave
·         A bequest of the remaining part of your estate, but only after all other specific legacies and cost have been paid – known as Residuary
·         Specific personal assets such as property, stocks and shares
