The Farmington Institute is an educational charity that aims to support and encourage headteachers working on values and standards, and teachers of Religious Education and associated subjects in schools. The Institute awards scholarships to UK headteachers and teachers of Religious Education in schools, publishes discussion papers and arranges conferences.
The Farmington Institute holds an annual conference in Harris Manchester College in Oxford over a weekend in June, where up to 120 teachers of RE and headteachers meet to share ideas and network with others. The conference is open to teacher scholars past and present, where the current year’s scholars present the results of their work.
The Farmington Institute has partnered with Temple Grove Schools Trust to offer Teacher Scholarships, awarded to primary teachers in any subject that promotes excellence in primary education. The Scholarships awarded may be taken in the form of day release for up to 30 days. During the period of the Scholarship, regular tutorials will be held with an appointed tutor.
